Our Fifth Mountain Hounds has come to an end and this was our best year yet for Mountain Hounds. We have succeeded previous years in raising money for Greyhound Friends of North Carolina and greyhound adoption. Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. We do hope you had a greyt time and hope you can join us next year.
We were very fortunate to have Dr. Couto from Ohio State University at Mountain Hounds this year! His seminar was packed with lots of information about the health and well being of our beloved greyhounds. With the quilt raffle, selected silent auction items and origami cranes we were able to raise $1,503.00 for a donation to The Greyhound Wellness Project at OSU. Thank you everyone who contributed to this!
The Sidney James once again welcomed us and our dogs with open arms. They were very pleased to have us back for a second year and looking forward to hosting us for 2010.
Vending was held at the Four Seasons hotel this year and we hope to utilize them again in 2010. They make a great overflow hotel when we fill up the Sidney James.
Congratulations to the King & Queen. Deacon Certo and Dingo Ingram were awarded this title as the oldest male and female greyhound in attendance. They were both honored with embroidered blankets handmade by Audrey Lochanksy. This winter they can curl up with their blanket and dream of all the fun they had at Mountain Hounds 2009.
Pictures of the event and of the King & Queen are located in the Memories section of the website. Take a tour and re-live the event.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone in 2010! Remember Mountain Hounds is always the weekend AFTER Memorial Day weekend. So mark your calendars for June 3-6th2010.
